What classes do I need to take?

Within the cohort of the Academy of Business and Finance, students are to take the following classes :​

Freshman Year

  • Business Communication & Technology

  • World History Honors

  • English I Honors

Sophomore Year​​

  • Personal Finance

  • U.S. History Honors

  • English II Honors

Junior Year​​

  • Accounting Applications I

  • Government & Economics Honors

  • English III Honors

Senior Year​​

  • Marketing Essentials

  • Psychology I & II 

  • English IV Honors

Your other 4 classes will consist of Math, Science, and electives. (These courses will not be part of the cohort

Graduation Requirements

Students must meet 3 of the 5 following requirements for Academy Cords:

  • Maintain a 2.5 GPA over the four years in all Academy classes

  • Obtain Microsoft Office Suite Certification in 3 different programs (bundle) – Word, PowerPoint and Excel

  • Attend all three required evening events every year - unless excused by the Director prior to the events

  • Earn 100 hours of Community Service over the four years (towards Bright Futures)

  • No discipline referrals
